Tikun Olam תיקון עולם Repair the world

A principal in Judaism that promotes acts of service and social action. The belief that there is a human responsibility to improve and bring healing to an already good world.

Tikun Olam was formed in the heart of Israel, as a philanthropic organization on a mission to “Repair the World” through cannabis. In 2002, our founder, Tzachi Cohen, began cultivating the plant and providing the medicine to those suffering in Galilee – cancer fighters, recovering opiate addicts, and veterans with PTSD. With the help of a team of volunteers, including Cohen’s dear mother, a supportive community developed where patients found camaraderie in advocacy and the search for relief. Thus, the legacy of Tikun Olam was born.

In 2005, after petitioning the Israeli Ministry of Health, our fate as pioneers in medical cannabis was set when Tikun Olam was granted the world’s first governmental license to produce and distribute cannabis through the healthcare system. Partnering with hospitals and nursing homes, Tikun Olam emerged as the flagship caregiver for thousands of people, providing personalized cannabis treatment plans and tracking which strains provided the most benefit for varying conditions. Our dedication to patient care and continual research became critical components of the Tikun ethos – and paved the way for what has now grown into a global wellness operation, providing plant-based relief across the world.

Rooted in Israel’s regulatory environment, Tikun Olam’s team of scientists have led pioneering cannabis research since 2007. Building on the discoveries of our mentor, Dr. Raphael Mechoulam, we continually conduct observational studies and clinical trials to examine the effects our strains have in the treatment and management of specific symptoms and diseases.

With the creation of a nurse clinic in Tel Aviv in 2011, Tikun Olam broke new ground in establishing cannabis treatment procedures. Through attentive care and the gathering of observational data and feedback from our patients, we’ve amassed one of the world’s largest cannabis treatment databases, with over 20,000 patient records – noting strains used and symptoms treated. We’ve utilized this data to further develop the therapeutic effectiveness of our strains and products, as well as our understanding of the cannabis plant. Through our ongoing commitment to research, we’ve earned our reputation as the most trusted name in cannabis.

Over the last decade, we’ve seen overwhelmingly positive results in cannabis’ ability to improve our patients’ quality of life – and we’ve treated tens of thousands of people! With expert research and care, the Tikun family of strains have been genetically optimized and clinically shown to provide maximal therapeutic benefit for a wide range of conditions and ailments, including pain, inflammation, depression, PTSD, autism, fibromyalgia, and Crohn’s Disease. From the child who has dramatically fewer seizures to the terminal patient who is able to enjoy their final stage of life with less pain and anxiety, we are motivated daily by our patients’ successes with cannabis.

Today, with a global footprint spanning eight countries, our focus remains on providing therapeutic solutions through cannabis and a personalized approach to wellness. We recently launched in California and Florida and look forward to bringing our medicine to more US states in the coming years. Guided by our mission to “Repair the World,” we strive to provide safe and effective cannabis products to all in need. We hope to serve you soon!
